It’s hard to believe, but we have just celebrated the 3-year anniversary of our Nashville office! With an initial $10 million budgeted for acquisitions, we are quietly and purposefully building one of Nashville’s finest independent music catalogs. We currently own interests in over 40 #1 songs, and our overall catalog is now approaching 3500 songs. We are evaluating select publishing catalogs to purchase. Lee Miller Catalog

We have recently aquired an interest in the song catalog of Lee Miller.  Miller has had numerous cuts by artists such as Craig Morgan, Trace Adkins, Billy Currington, Randy Travis, Terri Clark, Joe Nichols, John Michael Montgomery, Tracy Lawrence, and Mark Wills, just to name a few. In addition, this catalog contains Brad Paisley's number 1 hit "The World," and Terri Clark's number 1 hit "I Just Wanna be Mad."

Claydes "Charles" Smith Sr. was a predominant wrtier for the legendary group Kool and the Gang. He helped to pen such hits as "Celebration," "Cherish," "Hollywood's Swinging," "Joanna," and "Jungle Boogie."

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Hearts Bluff has recently reached an agreement with Peter Furler for a major stake in the Newsboys catalog. The Nashville based pop group known as the Newsboys have made a huge impact on the Pop and Christian music genres. In the past 12 years they have sold nearly three million records earning multiple Grammy nominations, three gold records, four dove awards, and many other honors.

Hearts Bluff Cuts Deal With Global Nomad Music

Heart's Bluff acquires catalog of songs written by Keith Hinton. Hinton credits include LeAnn Rimes' first #1 song, "One Way Ticket (Because I Can)." This song was featured on her debut album "Blue" and the T.V. movie "Holiday in Your Heart." It not only won an ASCAP "Most Popular Song Award," but also has become a "classic" according to the BMI bonus system.

We have just completed a deal with Nashville hitmaker Rafe Van Hoy, whose songs include George Jone's classic "Golden Ring," and "What's Forever For" originally recorded by Michael Martin Murphy. We are honored Rafe has allowed us to partner with him on these gold-standards. Did you know Rafe wrote "Golden Ring" (with Bobby Braddock) when he was 17 years old??

Tammy Hyler has written numerous hits such as "I Can Still Feel You," recorded by Collin Raye and "I Love You," recorded Martina McBride. She has many other cuts including "That's My Kind of Woman," recorded by George Strait and "Shoes," recorded by Shania Twain (the only outside song Shania has ever cut in her career).

Heart's Bluff Announces the purchase of the Billy Kirsch catalog.

This exceptional catalog includes classics such as: "Holes in the Floor of Heaven," "Come Some Rainy Day" and last year's hit single: "Stay Gone." Plus, you should hear the songs that have not been cut yet!

Songwriters Capital Gains Tax Equity Act

The Songwriters Capital Gains Tax Equity Act passed both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate as part of the Tax Reconciliation Act of 2005. The new legislation was signed into law on May 17, 2006. This legislation gives individual songwriters the same capital gains opportunities currently enjoyed by all other property owners. When the Songwriters Capital Gains Tax Equity Act takes effect on January 1, 2007, a songwriter who sells the rights to his/her song catalog will pay a 15% tax to the government on the sale of that catalog rather than 40% in taxes which was previously assessed.
